Nokia Composer tone entering...

To enter a Nokia Composer tone into your Nokia phone - locate the ringtone composer (on some models you press the 'Menu' button, then 5, then 4, then 1, on others press 'Menu', then 9, then 3). The current composition will be shown (if any).

Clear the current notes if required by holding down the 'c' key, then simply press the keys on your phone in the order shown in one of the Nokia Composer ringtones on this site.

When you have finished press 'Options' to play your tone, adjust its tempo or to finally save it to your phone.

To enter a Nokia Composer tone into your Nokia phone - locate the ringtone composer - Menu | Tones | Composer

Pick a slot. Now enter the Keypress ringtone as shown on this site. Note, that to get 'dotted' notes, you need to press and hold the key. This is shown on the key-press view as brackets ( )

General Tips

After you have entered the ringotone - Check the ringtone sounds as you expect. - Options | Play. If not: Change the tempo. The tempo for a particular tune really is a matter of taste.

Check to see if you have entered the tune correctly as seen on this site. You can scroll through the tune using the < > keys. You should be able to correct simple mistakes by deleting the incorrect note (c) and then re-entering.

Save the ringtone. - You should give it a sensible name. - Options | Save
Exit the composer. - Options | Exit or press and hold (c) twice
Choose the new ringtone as your default ringtone. - Menu | Tones | Ringing Tone

General key functions defined (if you are interested!)

Keys 1-7 correspond to the notes "cdefgab". (remember press and hold for dotted).
Keys 8 & 9 change the length
Key * changes the octave
Key # makes it sharp
Key 0 is a rest.
